This time last year, almost to the day, I was waltzing into Botox Cosmetic San Jose, to receive my very first botox injections, and I was a little bit anxious I must confess. Now, looking back, and whilst I have absolutely no complaints about the way in which I got the botox, I am of course frustrated. I am frustrated because just 2 months after those injections we were put into lockdown and my new, and youthful look, was wasted on the four walls of my home!
Despite this however I do want to discuss the wonders of botox today and respond to many of you who have been asking about the process and what you can expect when go for your botox injections, so here are some facts about just that.
How Much Botox?
The professional who is administering the botox will help to guide you in the right direction with regards to the amount of botox which they feel that you need. I must say that I would always go along with their recommendation because they will generally err on the side of caution. Eventually your body can build up a resistance to the chemical which is why it makes sense to avoid overdoing it.
I do not have a high pain threshold and I would say that these injections did not hurt a single bit. In fact the worst that I could describe them as was like someone scratching your skin with a sharp pen. The injections are over before you know it and they absolutely do not hurt. Seconds after the injections have been done, you will feel absolutely nothing.
How Long Do Results Last?
I asked the clinician the exact same question and he told me that if I properly looked after my skin then the effects could last for up to 6 months. Now I have to say that I do have a good skincare routine and I started to see those wrinkles appear again after around 5 months. If you are a smoker and you do not look after your skin, then you can only expect those results to last for around 3/4 months.
When Do Results Happen?
I did think that I was going to see results right away but it turns out that this is not the case and it actually takes a week or so for the results to show. After the injections you will be told to make a number of silly faces such as shock and anger, this is to move the liquid about under the skin so as to get an even spread. Make sure that you pay attention to this as it will help the results to look natural. For me I began to see results at the 6 day mark, and by day 10 everything looked absolutely great!
